Files deleted!
I realized that today Rapidshare has deleted many of the videos I uploaded (Nico, Velvet Undeground, Byrds, Kevin Ayers, Pentangle). It says they are forbidden to be shared and that complaints has been received. What does it means? Who complained about what? What's the problem with sharing old music videos? Any of you bloggers have the same problem? Do I have to use another site, like Sendspace as example? Any suggestion would be appreciated, I'm quite discouraged :(

Mirco la cosa è incredibile!! Non vorrei che il problema sia conseguente alla manutenzione del servizio: da quindici giorni ho scoperto groovyfab.blogspot.com/ e ho preso tranquillamente i video anni 60 , per non parlare di WFMU dove ci sono video di Lennon e Iggi, per esempio, postati da mooolto tempo.
Un ultima cosa:mi sono accorto solo adesso che ieri il file dei Velvet sono riuscito a scaricarlo ma me lo dà in formato zip con applicazione default per essere aperto tale BOMArchiveHelper (mai sentito, ho usato Stuffit 10.0 per Mac, niente da fare)

I have also noticed this happening on various other blogs... files I've tried to get have come up with that message. Rapidshare are under maintenance at the moment and getting any files off them is near impossible.
It does seem that using Sendspace or another fileshare server is the best option. I've had no problems with Sendspace at all, plus if you register (for free) you can keep track of all your uploads and see exactly how many times they have been downloaded!
Im sad and sorry this has happened though many other bloggers will be discovering the same dilemma. Hope you can find a solution and get back up and running.

hello, how to use rapidshare without beeing deleted ?
Put on your blog a link rapidshare countaining not the album but an another link rapidshare to download your album.
So when bastards want to delete your music, they only delete a link and not an album.
My entire blog was deleted as well as my Rapidshare files. BAH!
probabilmente a qualche major dava fastidio. anche in passato sono spariti video e audio dei "velvet underground", e succede al volo se uno posta "elvis costello". evidentemente su qualche artista c'è maggior controllo... perché c'è l'interesse di qualcuno

I'd like to thank everyone for your suggestions, I'll take advantage of them to try to keep on working on this blog. Anyway I don't think it's a problem due to the manteinance on Rapidshare, files are not just unavailable, they have been deleted and I don't think they'll reappear the next year...
Per Emanuele: mi è stato suggerito di caricare su Rapidshare solo files compressi e protetti da password, per maggior sicurezza (e ciò nonostante...), anche se questo complica un po' le cose. Io mi trovo benissimo con ZipGenius 6, è gratuito e parla anche italiano...ma io uso Windows, non so come vada con Mac...comunque ricorda che la password è musicforyoureyes.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I do hope you can get this one up and running again since it was a very promising one! I too am dismayed that Detroit Superflys' blog has been deleted. This is terrible and I hope we can get round these problems that have been arising since these blogs rock!

Its nothing personal by Rapidshare. Anything reported to them as a complaint is immediately deleted - no questions asked. It happens - probably a troll or your stuff is being posted on other sites. Do not be discouraged;this is a great blog. Just re-up the stuff.

make 2 folders,
put the file you want to share inside folder 1, then put folder 1 inside folder 2, then add folder 2 to zip or rar, with a password (make sure the folders have short, nonsense names)
I am suffering the same problem with Rapidshare and there thinking of switching to quickdump.com or likewise. It is so anyoing when some weakminded wipeass destroys your files at RS. But keep on doing the right thing, so will i.
